Most people tell me that 2013 was a rough year to say the least. Sure, parts of it were rough, but in some ways, they were very strengthening at the same time. We lost our moms, but we watched Evie grow. We didn’t get to move out of our little apartment, but we learned how to do more with what we were given. We had a few ‘business opportunities’ that we gave a valiant effort to, even though the odds were long that they would succeed. Overall, 2013 was a pretty decent year, even with all the loss.
New Year’s Eve was the perfect way to close out this chapter of our lives. We spent the evening with good friends. Actually, it was more like we spent the night with the family that we choose, instead of just spending it with friends. Even better, we made more friends in the process, which I have figured out you can never have too many of.
So as one year comes to a close, and another begins, make sure that you are surrounded by the people that you want to have in your life. Don’t settle for the ones that are there if you have nothing in common or struggle to find reasons to hang out with. Find those that you genuinely enjoy being with and devote more time to being present with them. Enjoy the fireworks with those you love and find new relationships that spark your interests. Make 2014 a year that is better than challenging, make it a year that you will remember forever.
I’ll post my yearly recap soon with all my fun events and images from the year, in fact, maybe I’ll get started right now with it so everyone can enjoy and remember the whole year. Thanks for reading!
